The Project for the New Global Millennium
A Parody in the Form of a Letter
Rebuilding a Conception of Sanctity:
Religion, Politics, and a structure for Global Peace
A Letter to the Religious Leaders, Political Leaders, and Citizens of the World:
Without going into the excruciating details of human history, one can say that religions and politics are the progenitors of many artificially imposed cultural boundaries and are the product of a struggle for survival.
All living organisms compete for natural resources. In the past the struggle for natural resources was restricted geographically. Born of this struggle, human came to dominate human. The policies of religious and political states exist to establish order and often to establish relationships of dominance.
While many people have struggled throughout history to dominate others, many have sought to develop an understanding of nature and work towards altruistic ends. From this philosophy of nature, and the will to dominate nature, the tools of technology have developed; the tools for peace and the tools for war.
It is tragic that some of the greatest human minds have created some of the greatest dangers to the world with the weapons they devise for the sole purpose of the brutal destruction and domination of others. We have learned to accept this struggle as being part of nature and accept that there is always a sacrifice for gain. I ask us all to question if this paradigm is fallacious.
Let us assume, contrary to the paradigm of universal struggle, that it is possible in this new global millennium to utilize our technologies for the purpose of universal resource distribution towards the creation of a stable political and economic infrastructure necessary for the large scale survival of the human race and all of earth’s inhabitants.
The current schema for resource distribution and utilization is one based on a plan for American hegemony as envisioned by the Project for the New American Century (PNAC) in their document “Rebuilding America’s Defenses” (RAD) and Dick Cheney’s National Energy Policy. The ultimate outcome of this plan is the destruction and depletion of vast ecosystems, the genocide of peoples and the erasure of their cultural history- as is evident form the illegal military invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq via destruction of civilian infrastructure, degradation of the environment from the use of depleted uranium munitions, and the looting and carpet bombing of the most ancient artifacts of human civilization.
The view promoted and being enacted by the PNAC may satisfy the needs of a few but can not provide for the long term security and stability of the worlds needs. Global sustainability and security will more likely be attained by an altruistic approach towards global resource distribution and can be accomplished using the technologies already in place. Along with the obvious destruction of peoples, places and things that result from the PNAC’s and the Bush Administration’s policies comes the increased fear and hatred of the US which further insults any attempts at achieving global stability.
Globalization
is the ultimate product of our current technological trend. We can achieve this

There is a point to being mighty: to defend one’s self, in the strictest altruistic sense, or to offend another, in the strictest egotistic sense. If those who are peaceful amongst us stand strong in opposition to the Bush Administration’s goals for American hegemony, and let them know we have all read the script (RAD) the Bush Administration will have to back down.
